Mmmm. Thai food. Is there anything better? Doubtful. After living in Allentown, PA for a couple years, I had been spoiled by some of the best Thai food from Dynasty Restaurant (check it out if you’re ever in town). I have yet to find another restaurant to compare, but I think I might have done its Pink Basil truly rose to the occasion and it was right under my nose the whole time.

Pink Basil is located in the Old Mystic Village in Mystic, CT. I’ve lived fifteen minutes away from this place for years and never tried it.

After a recommendation from a friend I decided to give it a shot. I decided to try the vegetable potstickers, vegetable pho, and the Mystic Entree with Jasmine rice.

The Mystic Entree was definitely my favorite featuring fried tofu, broccoli, carrots, bok choy, onions, scallions, cashews, and their homemade peanut sauce. It is perfect served over rice or rice vermicelli.

The pho was nice because it was lighter and the broth had a very good flavor and was not overly salty. It was loaded with sliced vegetables, tofu, and greens.

The meal also came with bean sprouts, herbs, and lime on the side which made great additions to each dish. I loved the thought out into including this with the order.

My sole complaint I would be that the potstickers had an unnecessary amount of ginger in them and overpowered the taste of the dish.

If you are ever in the area definitely check this place out!

It gets four stars in my book!
