Strawberry Banana Chocolate Protein Smoothie (Vegan, Gluten Free, Refined Sugar Free)

I've gotten into the habit recently of going to the gym at 7 or 8 o'clock at night. Then I inevitably will end up eating dinner at around 10 and don't get to sleep until at least midnight. Today I decided I was going to break the cycle!

I got up and made myself this awesome protein smoothie to wake me up so I can hit the gym early today. It is delicious and also has a healthy balance of protein, fat, and carbs. What better way to start your day?

This smoothie is thick, creamy, and rich! I like to add cacao nib on top and some chia seeds in the mixture to give it some texture. I hope you enjoy it!
Recipe:
1 cup frozen strawberries
2 bananas
3/4 cup unsweetened plain almond milk (if you want it to be refined sugar free)
1 1/2 tbsp peanut butter (for healthy fats!)
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 scoop unflavored vegan protein powder (I use Sunwarrior)
1 tbsp dutch cocoa powder
1 tbsp cacao nibs to top with
Method:
1. Add all ingredients (except cocao nibs) to a blender. I add the frozen strawberries in first so they are on the bottom. This makes sure they get blended up completely.
2. Blend on medium speed until smooth and well combined.
3. Pour into glass and top with cacao nibs.
4. Enjoy!
